Forever Learning: Enriching the Community Through Lifelong Learning

Forever Learning - a resource for seniors and their families - connection - community - books - education

I first learned about Forever Learning Institute from a patient who had taught classes there, and I was immediately struck by what a valuable resource it is for the community. Many people with hearing loss—particularly those who are retired or live alone—are searching for meaningful opportunities to remain connected, engaged, and involved with others. Since that first conversation, I have come to realize that many of my patients have found their way to Forever Learning in a variety of roles, whether as instructors, participants, or travelers in its educational programs.

For individuals with hearing loss, isolation can gradually become woven into everyday life, and returning to social settings is not always easy. This is why organizations that encourage connection and lifelong growth are so important. Opportunities to continue learning, build relationships, and remain active in the community can help restore confidence and renew a sense of purpose and belonging. Forever Learning provides a warm and welcoming place where people can come stay engaged and continue growing throughout every stage of life.

Forever Learning Institute is a South Bend, Indiana nonprofit that serves adults age 50 and older and describes itself as northern Indiana’s largest education nonprofit for this age group.
